There are only three knives that are crucial in a kitchen: a chef's knife, a paring knife and a serrated knife:

  3. A serrated knife is used for bread, tomatoes and even meat. Serrated knives are most useful on foods that have one texture on the outside and another inside, like a hard-crusted bread or a tomato.
There are many benefits when one uses garlic for their food. The smaller you cut it, the stronger the flavor. Chopping finely and/or pressing a clove expose more surfaces to the air, causing a chemical reaction to produce that strong aroma and potent flavour.
